BOB is a state wide reading motivation and comprehension program sponsored by the Alaska Association of School Librarians. The goals of the program are to encourage and recognize students who enjoy reading, to broaden reading interest, increase comprehension, and promote academic excellence. All students will read the same pre-selected set of books. Students will work together over the course of the next several months, memorizing authors and titles and answering comprehension questions. In January, the final team(s) will be selected using these criteria: a question and answer competition, attendance, total number of books read, and their behavior during practices. The top team(s) will then move on to the Anchorage School District Battle of the books.
